David Griffin

David Griffin has a BS in environmental engineering from New Mexico Tech with special emphasis in petroleum and extractive metallurgy. He started his career in petroleum refining at Navajo Refining Company in Artesia, NM in 1978. He later went on to become Environmental Manager at GHR Energy’s large Refinery in New Orleans, LA. David then returned to Artesia, NM in 1982 to manage Holly Corporation’s Environmental Affairs for its two New Mexico Refineries, third Refinery in Great Falls, MT as well as pipeline and terminal operations in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Montana and Idaho. He joined Holloman Air Force Base in 2005, becoming their Water Quality Manager. David also owns and operates a cattle ranch near Cloudcroft, NM. Also, David has been a Judge at the WERC International Environmental Design Contest for the past 18 years and a Judge at the New Mexico State Science Fair for the past 16 years.
